Agra — 2011

This is just one city in India that many people strive to visit in order to see the Taj Mahal. You can love India or hate it, but it will not leave anyone indifferent. To be honest, after traveling across the north and south, with side trips in search of tigers, I did not come to love India — but not because of the dirt. I have seen the same level of dirt in other countries as well.

I always hired a guide with a car, which allowed me to stop anywhere between cities and visit ordinary people in their apartments and homes. I was not so interested in architectural monuments and temples as in the everyday life and customs of people.

I want to admit that photographing in India is difficult, but very interesting. Even with the often pale sky caused by smog, the colors and forms are astonishing. Later I will add other cities and regions of India. Everyone should visit India at least once.
