Why invite codes are needed

hand-made.world is a platform created specifically for travel photography. Unlike general-purpose social networks, we focus on high-quality, meaningful content — and that’s only possible thanks to our community and moderation system.

Most of our users are travel photographers themselves — professionals or passionate enthusiasts. That’s why the stories, photos, and comments you see here are insightful, authentic, and relevant. We support low compressed, high-resolution images, we offer a unique map-based interface to find Stories, Events or photos on world map and explore real photography spots, with content created by people who’ve actually been there.

To maintain this quality, we use an invite-only system. This means that:

• You can only register if you receive an invite code from an existing member or the hand-made.world team or community.
• Only registered users can post content, comment, or interact with others.

This approach helps us:

• Preserve the value of the community by keeping the focus on real travel photography.
• Grow gradually — since we are still in beta, this helps us test features, gather feedback, and fix bugs before scaling up.

We plan to expand access in 2027 — either by increasing the number of invites available to users or opening public registration. Until then, every new member is carefully invited to keep hand-made.world a high-quality space for travel photographers worldwide.

What’s next after beta (late 2026, early 2027)

After fixing all bugs and officially leaving the beta phase, we have decided to open registration for everyone. Anyone will be able to sign up without restrictions.

At the same time, invite codes will remain, but they will become unlimited. Why?

• So that users can still invite their friends and colleagues.
• To clearly see who invited whom.
• To ensure the most accurate affiliate tracking and fair payout of referral percentages.

In this way, we combine open access for all with a transparent invite system that rewards our community and helps it grow organically.
