Our idea
We believe that travel photography is not just an image of a place, but a personal statement — an experience, an observation, and a way of seeing the world.
hand-made.world exists to:
- preserve and present strong original photographic work;
- support thoughtful storytelling rather than endless image streams;
- create an environment where photographers remain in control of their work.
Respect for the author
We treat photography as a finished work, exactly as it was created and selected by the photographer.
Image captions and story texts are written or approved by the authors themselves.
The opinions expressed belong to the photographers and do not necessarily reflect the views of hand-made.world as an organization.
We do not alter the meaning of images, rewrite stories, or use content without the author’s consent.
Curated approach
hand-made.world is not a traditional social network.
Stories are published through a curatorial selection process.
This process is designed as a dialogue, an educational experience, and a collaboration — not a competition.
We help authors to:
- improve the presentation of their work;
- build coherent visual narratives;
- better understand context and audience.
Transparency and trust
We strive to be as transparent as possible:
- we do not sell personal data;
- we do not hide usage conditions;
- we openly communicate the technical and organizational limitations of the platform.
hand-made.world is not a financial institution and does not provide financial services.
We do not store payment data and do not have access to it.
Who this project is for
hand-made.world is created for photographers who:
- value authorship and context;
- are willing to share stories, not just files;
- respect other members of the community.
The platform is open both to professionals and to photographers who are still developing their voice.
Our goal
Our long-term goal is to build a trusted archive and community of contemporary travel photography.
Not the loudest goal.
Not the fastest goal.
But honest — toward photography and the people who create it.
